Security Features
MyFax is a very secure service: They have a PGP public key that you can use when sending encrypted faxes as well as the option of password protecting faxes. Secure VPN can also be customised for specific applications. Internally, Protus house their servers in a secure environment that is protected with 24 hour security. The perimeter is protected by multiple firewalls. They use 128-bit Verisign SSL Certification and 1024-bit RSA public keys.

Sending Faxes
Faxes can be sent and recieved from upto 5 existing email addresses.
Cover pages can be created and personalised to better represent you and your company.
Faxes can be sent as easily as printing a document or sending an email.
Address books can be imported and exported so there is no need to double enter names and numbers. Faxes can be sent from any internet enabled device so you can send faxes while on the move. You can also schedule when faxes are sent and set auto-resend if required. Notifications are sent to you as an email and / or can be sent to your mobile phone as a text message. The progress of sent faxes can be monitored from MyFaxCentral so you can know when your fax was sent or how close it is to being sent at any time.

Plugins
MyFax offers downloadable plugins for 2 applications: Outlook and ACT!. It also integrates with Microsoft Office Internet Fax which means that you can send faxes from any application that has a print function.

Recieving Faxes
Faxes are sent to your designated email address(es) and can also be accessed through the web portal: MyFax Central. Faxes are recieved as either TIFF or PDF which you can configure in the MyFaxCentral options. Faxes can be automatically distributed to upto 5 email addresses.

Additional Features
Faxes can be stored online for upto 1 year or transerred to your hard drive and kept forever.
Reporting and transit status are available via MyFaxCentral.

eBilling is built in to the web portal. There are no contractural obligations, everything is managed on a monthly or yearly payment scheme.

Faxing packages apply within the free faxing zone. Outside this zone international rates apply.

Corporate plans are availabe to handle faxing for companies with larger requirements.

Ease of Use

MyFax is extremely easy to use and integrates seamlessly with any emial package as well as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes and ACT!. You can be up and running without installing any software and can send and receive faxes from any internet enabled device. The MyFax Central interface is very simple and should present no problems to most people. If you do run into a snag, there is a huge array of help available. All in all this is one of the easiest packages to use we have ever encountered.

There is also a load of webinars, tutorials and guides as well as a Knowledge base and FAQ sections all of which are well laid out and easy to use. Whenever we have called MyFax we have found them friendly, courteous and helpful.

Fax Number Availability
Fax numbers are available in the US, Canada and Europe.

In the US you can choose a local rate number in any state. In Canada you can choose a local rate number from any of the 13 provinces. 866, 877 or 888 toll free number are also available in both countries and vanity numbers can be purchased.

In the UK, local rate numbers are available in many cities and 808 toll free numbers are also available.

Summary

MyFax is probably the best faxing solution on the market today for individuals or small to medium businesses. They don't have the coverage of eFax but that said they do have very impressive coverage over the globe. They are not the best value for money option if you are looking for high levels of free faxing. However, if you are looking for a reliable fax provider with loads of features, an easy to use interface and excellent technical support then MyFax is the deal for you.
