Product Overview
Rapidfax is owned by j2 Global Communications along with eFax, Fax.com, Send2Fax, DataOnCall, jConnect and SmartFax amoungst others. RapidFax offers a simple package which can be accessed from your email or the web portal. Signup is easy as there is only one package available: $9.99 per month gets you a toll free number and includes 200 inbound and 100 outbound faxes. They also offer a free trial for 30 days. There is the option of sending and receiving multiple faxes at any one time and faxes can be sent to 2 email addresses.
Feature Set
The RapidFax service allows the user to send and receive faxes through your email and from the website after you have logged onto your account. You can use your existing email account when faxing and Hotmail and other web based email is compatible. Whenever you send a fax Rapidfax will send you a confirmation that the fax was sent, whenever you receive a fax they will notify you via email and you can then open the mail and read the fax using Acrobat reader or you can log onto your account and read it through your web browser. Rapidfax allows for the use of multiple names and numbers with a single account and give you the option of sending to multiple recipients at the same time.
Sending Faxes
There are 2 levels of notification when sending faxes: Acknowledgement and Delivery Status. Faxes can be sent from multiple email addresses, just add each email address to the allowed list in the settings.

Recieving Faxes
Faxes are received in either TIFF or PDF format. They are delivered to your online inbox and can be forwarded to upto 2 email addresses if you wish. The frequency of notifications of new faxes can be configured, however, notifications can only be sent to your email address, not to a mobile or pager.

Ease of Use
It is easy to use the service provided. This is a no frills simple fax solution which allows faxing from the online portal or from any email client. It is very easy to use but lacks many of the bells and whistles that may make other packages more appealing.

RapidFax offer an online ticketing system for support calls. They also provide a FAQ section and you can call them on a toll free number during office hours or email them.

Summary
RapidFax is a simple, easy to use faxing solution. There is one package, reasonable support and no frills. There is limited file attachment support and international faxing is not included in the plan. If you live / work in the US and are looking for a fax provider to send faxes within the US and Canada then this is a good option.
